The phenomenon of the area of rough waves against current in marine areas commonly occur in regions with particularly strong tidal currents, narrow straits or channels, and at the convergence of different ocean currents. They are non-stationary phenomena influenced by the interaction of multiple factors, including wave direction, tidal cycles, and the intensity of ocean currents. Their locations and intensities vary over time, posing risks to marine activities and requiring special caution in navigation and offshore activities. The Central Weather Administration employs wave and ocean current models to identify areas with a high probability of the phenomenon of the area of rough waves against current occurrence, and provides warning services through a GIS platform.
