建置在北台灣的微震、地表變形、火山氣體、溫泉水質、地溫等火山觀測網收集火山活動背景資料，其資料兼具科學教育和災害防救價值。災防主管機關可藉由觀測資料掌握火山動態，確保人民生命財產安全。

The volcano observation networks deployed in northern Taiwan aim to collect background data on volcanic activity, including micro-earthquakes, surface deformation, volcanic gases/hot springs chemistry, and subsurface/fumarole temperature. The data is valuable in popular science education as well as disaster prevention and mitigation. By better tracking volcanic dynamics, it helps the disaster management authorities ensure the safty of people’s lives and property.
